Mozilla Joins George Soros’s Efforts In Launching A Strike Against “Fake News”

Mozilla, the non-profit organization which runs the Firefox internet browser, said Wednesday it was launching an effort against “fake news,” as fact-checking software backed by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and George Soros got its first run-out in public to shape our Orwellian nightmare of future truth arbiters.

Mozilla said it was “investing in people, programs and projects” in a new initiative to “disrupt misinformation online” calling for a “Mozilla Information Trust Initiative,” or MITI for short, Business Insider reported.

They further stated the “internet’s ability to power democratic society suffers greatly” because of fabricated stories, such as the “Pope endorsing Donald Trump for the U.S. presidency” or a “dead FBI agent killed in a mysterious fire with information on former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton” – just two examples of stories that turned out to be bogus.

Mozilla’s innovations director, Katharina Borchert, told AFP that the organization was working on tools for Firefox and better online education with media groups, universities, and tech activists.

The “Mozilla Information Trust Initiative” comes just as an automated real-time fact-checking engine dubbed the “bullshit detector” was demonstrated in London.

The group that created the fact-checking engine, Full Fact foundation, is backed by Omidyar and our favorite billionaire tycoon Soros.

The organization stated its software is “capable” of spotting lies in real-time and was used to fact-check a live debate at the House of Commons. How that objective was achieved isn’t clear since it’s likely automated A.I., but algorithms are not 100% accurate.

“As the proponents of propaganda and misinformation become more sophisticated in their use of technology, it is important that fact checkers do not fall behind in our fight against it,” Full Fact said.

“This is an important investment in the future of fact-checking,” Stephen King, of the Omidyar Network, told The Guardian.

“You only have to look at the number of initiatives that have risen up to address this challenge, either by tech companies or other organizations to see how worrying this phenomenon is to so many,” Borchert added.

I worry more about those who want to act as fact checkers, blatantly ignoring propaganda and fake news by the MSM while targeting alternative media and dictating what is and isn’t important for public consumption.

“Whether it’s become a big enough priority is perhaps a better question,” Borchert said, arguing that it was time for rival news organizations to “rally around” each other to confront the spread of fake news.

Then you have Wikipedia founder, Jimmy Wales, planning to launch a crowd-funded news service called Wikitribune to help combat fake news.

So you have all these people, some of whom have even once advocated for a free and open Internet, now advocating for controlling the flow of information under the moniker of “fake news.”

How about all the fake news spread by the CIA and intelligence services called planted propaganda usually for pushing war? Especially as a new report questions the veracity of claims made by a shady firm Cloudstrike that “Russia hacked the election” – how about that fake news?

Putting the future of what we believe in anyone’s hands, let alone artificial intelligence, seems reckless; but a system backed by Soros and Omidyar seems like a dangerously stupid idea that can only lead to a path paved toward Orwellian censorship the likes of which even George Orwell couldn’t have imagined.

Justice demands 1.3M IP addresses related to Trump resistance site

If you look to censor oppositions rights to free speech, then you will lose your own!

The Department of Justice has requested information on visitors to a website used to organize protests against President Trump, the Los Angeles-based Dreamhost said in a blog post published on Monday.

Dreamhost, a web hosting provider, said that it has been working with the Department of Justice for several months on the request, which believes goes too far under the Constitution.

DreamHost claimed that the complying with the request from the Justice Department would amount to handing over roughly 1.3 million visitor IP addresses to the government, in addition to contact information, email content and photos of thousands of visitors to the website, which was involved in organizing protests against Trump on Inauguration Day.

“That information could be used to identify any individuals who used this site to exercise and express political speech protected under the Constitution’s First Amendment,” DreamHost wrote in the blog post on Monday. “That should be enough to set alarm bells off in anyone’s mind.”

When contacted, the Justice Department directed The Hill to the U.S. attorney’s office in D.C. The U.S. attorney’s office declined to comment but provided the filings related to the case.

The company is currently challenging the request. A hearing on the matter is scheduled for Friday in Washington.

“In essence, the Search Warrant not only aims to identify the political dissidents of the current administration, but attempts to identify and understand what content each of these dissidents viewed on the website,” the company’s general counsel, Chris Ghazarian, said in a legal argument opposing the request.

News We Broke: Charlottesville Police Called Off When Violence Began

As we reported in real time, the police stood down as violence erupted

Editor’s Note: Infowars reporters Millie Weaver and Gavin Wince were the first to report on the police stand-down in Charlottesville during a live stream of the rally as the violence erupted.

Fox News reporter Doug McKelway was in attendance during yesterday’s deadly events in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he reported that the police were called off as soon as things started turning violent.

“But when the tear gas started to fly, thrown by protesters, the police themselves began to evacuate then. I asked the guy who was in charge, “Where you going?” He said, “We’re leaving. It’s too dangerous.” They had a chance to nip this thing in the bud and they chose not to.”

Something fishy is happening in CA

In many counties California’s registered voters outnumber the number of people currently eligible to vote. But surely there’s no reason to suspect voter fraud in the upstanding state of California.

Death of Prosecutor in Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s District Ruled Suicide, No Gun Found

Beranton J. Whisenant Jr.’s body located on Florida beach in May

Beranton J. Whisenant Jr.’s death was ruled a suicide Thursday, months after the federal prosecutor’s body was found on a Hollywood beach shore in former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s congressional district.

Back in May, police initially announced they were investigating Whisenant’s death from a head wound as a homicide, but detectives and the medical examiner reported this week that the married father of three “had shot himself in the head,” according to The Sun Sentinel.

“Police searched for two blocks north and south of the crime scene but couldn’t find the gun or any other weapon.”

Whisenant worked in the major crimes division for the US Attorney’s Office in Miami investigating visa and passport fraud, reports the Associated Press, and his death came as a shock to colleagues.

The federal prosecutor’s death occurred in Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, represented by former DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

CNN Analyst on Trump: “The Government’s Gonna Kill This Guy”

Phil Mudd’s bizarre on-air comments fluster Jake Tapper

CNN Analyst on Trump:

CNN counterterrorism analyst and former CIA agent Philip Mudd said on air “the government’s gonna kill” Donald Trump because he disrespected the deep state.

Mudd subsequently clarified that he meant the phrase metaphorically, but the comments have caused alarm amongst Trump supporters.

“Let me give you one bottom line – as a former government official, the government’s gonna kill this guy,” said Mudd.

“He defends Vladimir Putin, there are State Department and CIA officers coming home and at Langley and in Foggy Bottom CIA are saying, this is how you defend us?’” Mudd added.

CNN host Jake Tapper subsequently gave Mudd a chance to clarify his comments, remarking, “Obviously when you’re talking about killing you’re using that as a metaphor.”

“Well obviously yeah,” responded Mudd, before going on to say, “People talk about the deep state, when you disrespect government officials who’ve done 20 or 30 years, they’re gonna say ‘really – Vladimir Putin sends officers home and you support him before you support us?’”

Mudd’s clarification was odd because of his reference to the “deep state” immediately after he talked about the government killing Trump.

As we have exhaustively documented, talk of a deep state coup against Trump has been doing the rounds for months.

Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne recently claimed that he was told by a senior Republican Congressman that there was a plot to “remove Trump suddenly from office”. Browne said the plan was to “take the president out,” by a method other than impeachment or indictment.

In comments made during the Aspen Security Forum, former CIA Director John Brennan said that if the White House tries to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, executive branch officials should “refuse to carry out” that order, which is effectively a call for a coup.

Last month, Rush Limbaugh also told his audience, “There is a coup underway, being led by the media with accomplices in the Democrat Party and a number of international players, to reject the outcome of the election, to undermine the presidency of Donald Trump, and, if the wish list were realized, to get rid of him.”

Meanwhile, CNN has dispensed with pro-Trump commentator Jeffrey Lord because he offended a leftist on Twitter by making reference to fascism and Nazis, something that leftists do every single day.
